Using a much more Artistic approach than our traditional Team/Group & Individual photos

These special sessions are produced primarily for the individual athlete, using a “low-key” dramatic and lighting style with a more dynamic & artistic emphasis. We encourage Action style poses or elegantly posed portraits with a subdued lighting style & mood. Prints from these sessions can be purchased “as taken” with our standard editing procedures applied, or with a stylized “Powder” or “Starlight” effect added behind the subject for an added dimension. We can also use “Colored Fabrics” for a different additional dynamic dimension. Other artistic graphic effects will be available soon and may also be requested.

Where and when do the sessions take place?

Our Sports, Athletics & Arts Sessions take place at a suitable indoor location where there is enough space for a small studio set-up, on location or at our studio. These sessions are often (but not always) done “in addition” to our more traditional Team & Individual photography. They can be scheduled almost any time but we prefer to batch them along with the regular T&I session, as an add-on service for those who want something extra special.

How does it work & what is the ordering process?

There is a quick registration period before the session begins where we collect contact information from the customer plus a nominal sitting fee which is credited back to the customer in the form of a discount code (to be used during the shopping cart checkout). After the session is complete, we send the customer an online link to the images from our session (and their discount code) where the photos can be viewed and purchased online at the customers leisure.

When will we receive our photo order?

After your order has been placed we edit & enhance your chosen images and prepare them for printing. The images are printed at our award winning photo lab and you will receive your prints in approximately 4-5 working days.

Can we make an appointment for a session at DT Studios?

In order to keep your (and our) costs down, we normally rely on a “volume” price structure for these sessions. Ideally we need at least a dozen participants in order to keep the costs down for us and also allows us to charge you less. However there are times when several customers get together and split a studio session here at our photo studio location. The more participants you can gather, the lower your costs will be. Can any sport work with this style of photography?

Yes. Obviously the more artistic and graceful sports such as Dance, Figure Skating, Gymnastics lend very well to this style of photography, we can make any sport work.
